Wednesday afternoon, September 23 2015, a Hopkins County Grand Jury indicted Tilton Joshua Mapps for murder and for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. A 63-year old Dike man is accused of stealing a caterpillar back hoe from a crew repairing a bridge on Highway 69 in January of 2012. The man had disguised the equipment to look like a John Deere. A 51-year old Sulphur Springs man being questioned by Sulphur Springs Police Detective Sgt. David Gilmore admitted being involved in two counts of attempted sexual assault. The cases involved two boys. JP Brad Cummings charged Darrell Lynn Payne with two counts of attempted sexual assault and set bond at $30,000 on each count.
