Third Person Charged in Meth Find

Bethany Ann StevensonA third person has been arraigned following a Wednesday traffic stop near Cumby that netted 134 grams of methamphetamine and $3400 in cash. Also charged is 18-year old Bethany Kay Stevenson. Stevenson was an occupant in the vehicle stopped for a traffic violation at the 112 mile marker near Cumby on eastbound I-30. She along with  59-year old Randall Scott Green of Sulphur Springs and 52-year old Jackqulyn Henery Erwin of Talco woman remain in Hopkins County Jail Friday morning. Stevenson is also held on a $40,000 bond. She was arraigned Friday morning because she was too sleepy to attend the Thursday morning arraignments conducted by Justice of the Peace B. J. Teer.

Lawmen suspected illegal activity during the 8 a.m. traffic stop Wednesday, but the suspects refused to allow a search of their car. A police K-9 officer was brought to the scene and alerted on the trunk of the car. A search of the car produced the meth and money.
