What is Skatefest? KSST sat down with David Brantley, founder of Super Honkey Skateboarding, and creator of Skatefest to talk about the upcoming event. Skatefest is the first annual skateboarding competition in Sulphur Springs. Sulphur Springs Rotary Club Scholarship and Grant Recipients

by Savannah Owens At their meeting on June 22nd, the Sulphur Springs Rotary club gave out Senior Scholarships to 6 seniors and grants to organizations around the community. The rotary club is 12 years old, and has 66 members and 4 honorary members. The money for the scholarships and grants came from their Claws for a Cause event.    The Rotary Club received 21 applications for the scholarships from all over Hopkins County. Mobile Mammography Coach Visits Sulphur Springs

Hunt County Regional Healthcare has their Mobile Mammography bus parked in the Spring Village Shopping Center in front of Dollar General today, June 22. They will be in Sulphur Springs until 3:00 pm. Similar to a blood-drive bus, this Mobile Mammography Coach is a portable way to check for breast cancer, and service the areas around Hunt County. In honor of the U.S. Open and Father’s day, the Sulphur Springs Country Club hosted their very own “Sulphur Springs Open” on Saturday June 17th. 84 golfers competed in the competition. Toby Flippin, Head Golf Professional, explained that they have similar events “once a month, and its just a fun thing. The pageant started with a special tribute to Bobby McDonald, for all he did around Hopkins County. The presentation reviewed his accomplishments over the years and significant events of his life.
