Sulphur Springs Police Detective Sgt. David Gilmore arrested 51-year old Darrell Lynn Payne of Sulphur Springs last Thursday for two counts of attempted sexual assault. Dike Man Steals and Disguises Catepillar Back Hoe
A 63-year old Dike man is accused of stealing a caterpillar back hoe from a crew repairing a bridge on Highway 69 in January of 2012. The man had disguised the equipment to look like a John Deere. Robert Charles Vaughn was arrested at his home and has been charged with theft. JP B.J. Teer set bond for Vaughn at $30,000.
Local Man Charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child
24-year old Rene Herrera of Sulphur Springs has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child before JP Brad Cummings who set his bond at $100,000. Judge Cummings also made wearing a GPS device a stipulation of bond.
Two Attempted Sexual Assault Charges Filed Against Sulphur Springs Man
A 51-year old Sulphur Springs man being questioned by Sulphur Springs Police Detective Sgt. David Gilmore admitted being involved in two counts of attempted sexual assault. The cases involved two boys. JP Brad Cummings charged Darrell Lynn Payne with two counts of attempted sexual assault and set bond at $30,000 on each count. As a stipulation of bond, Payne must wear a GPS device so he can be tracked by lawmen.
