Atmos Energy Digging Into Lamar Street Reconstruction
Sulphur Springs City Manager Marc Maxwell had some bad news for the City Council Tuesday night. After noting the Lamar Street reconstruction project had been finished, Maxwell said Atmos would be digging it up in three places. Taylor Honored on National Mayor’s Day
Sulphur Springs Mayor Freddie Taylor was honored on National Mayor’s Day at an event at the Senior Citizens Civic Center that April 7, 2015. Cooper Lake Nears Full Mark
Cooper Lake is as close to full as its’ been in quite some time after recent rains. Sulphur Springs City Manager Marc Maxwell said Monday the lake is just two feet, three inches below capacity. Back in December, he told the City Council the lake was some 13-feet low. The last time the lake was completely full was in late 2010. Maxwell credited the coming of El Nino in the Pacific for the wetness here.

Incumbent Oscar Aguilar and challenger Charles Oxford, running for Place 3 on the Sulphur Springs City Council, gathered in the City Secretary’s Office Friday morning to draw for places on the ballot.
