The Lady Cats’ basketball team got off to another very strong start on their way to a dominating 64-22 win over Greenville in Wildcats Gym Friday night. Wildcats Defeat Greenville for First District Win
The Wildcats’ basketball team claimed their first district win of the year with a 72-65 win at Greenville Friday night. The Wildcats improved to 1-2 in district play and 8-11 for the season. The Wildcats were led by Ke’Ontae Dunn and Keaston Willis with 22 points each. Garrett Jones also chipped in 11 points. Next the Wildcats travel to Hallsville Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
Open Carry Policies For Businesses in Sulphur Springs
After new laws regarding open carry went into effect at the beginning of the year, a number of businesses in Sulphur Springs have adopted new policies regarding open carry. Business such as EZ Mart will allow open carry so long as the weapon remains holstered. Tractor Supply has no policies regarding open carry, but has no issue with open carry. Lady Cats Soccer Wins Pair at Tourney
The Lady Cats’ soccer team opened the regular season with a pair of wins in a Terrell tournament Thursday. Both wins were by shutout. The Lady Cats topped Lindale, 3-0 and then edged by Huntsville, 1-0. The Lady Cats, now 2-0, play host Terrell and Dallas Conrad Friday. The tournament continues Saturday.
Wildcats Powerlifters Begin Season
The Wildcats new powerlifting coach is Jacob Alford. Coach Alford was a powerlifter in high school at Lindale and was a state qualifier his senior year. Six students in the biomedical and laboratory sciences program at Paris Junior College recently traveled to Houston to visit the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
