Saturday, August 8th from 6pm- 10:30pm, there is a Fundraiser Concert at Celebration Plaza for Cystic Fibrosis. Seth Welborn is putting together this entire event. This event will coincide with the Celebration Market. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and to also help raise awareness of the disease. Kevin Woolley, Superintendent for the Saltillo ISD, is also the Director for Haystack Youth Choir. Haystack stands for Hopkins County Area Youth Singing to Anoint Christ the King. Woolley, his Haystack assistant director, four choir members and a manager, were all guests on KSST’s Good Morning Show Wednesday where they discussed a July choir trip to New York City. The Animal Shelter’s Animal of the Week is Lucy, a 1-2 year old Beagle mix. Lucy has been at the Animal Shelter for a little over a week. She was given to the Animal Shelter by her owner who could no longer care for her. “Lucy was given up by the owner who is very busy working and is also a full-time student,” Animal Shelter Officer Barbi Blanch said. “The owner thought [Lucy] needed to go to someone that had more time for her.” Lucy is house-trained, and reacts well around other animals and humans as well as...

Dr. William Mark Miller, a Physician at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, celebrated his 50th Anniversary as a Licensed Physician today, July 27, 2015. He earned his medical degree in 1965 and began working at the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital at the age of 27, where he has been ever since. “I graduated from medical school about 50 years ago, and then I started an internship and residency in Fort Worth at a charity hospital call John Peter Smith Hospital,” Doctor Miller said. “I was there for two years.
