Hopkins County Sheriff’s officers and investigators assisted by the SPCA of Texas (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) seized 12 dogs, five of which were puppies, and two horses from 412 McBride St in Como,TX Tuesday afternoon. The animals were seized after an investigation by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office following a number of complaints from neighbors of the residence. Water Bill Pay Kiosk Provides a Better Way to Pay

Sulphur Springs Water Department Kiosk is proving a better way for residents to pay their monthly bill.  When remodeling the Water Department they closed off the drive through which had to be called for the new Kiosk. Cash and cards accepted at kiosk, checks accepted in drop box. It has been open since January 25th and is successful. An estimated 100 people use it per month.   County Road 1170 is now open according to County Commissioner Precinct 1 Beth Wisenbaker. County Road 1170 in Precinct 1 of Hopkins County has been closed since June 20th due to heavy storms that hit the area and eroded the soil around two tank cars that are currently being used as a culvert. County Road 1170 is a heavily trafficked road and a vital part of the road network in southern Hopkins County.
