Dairy Cattle are a major segment of the Hopkins County Dairy Festival. The Dairy Cow Show was conducted in the Regional Civic Center Arena on the first Saturday of the Dairy Festival. A number of dairy breeds were represented. Here Hannah Caudle shows the Grand Champion in the All Other Breeds Division. With the win she took home the Don and Marilyn Smith Award. “Just Moo It!” is the invitation from Pam Black and Missy Caddell, 2015 Festival Board President and Vice President! Dairy Festival is a 9-day-long annual celebration which honors the history and heritage of Hopkins County in the dairy industry. Events are planned June 12th through the 20th. Hot air balloons will be a big part of the first weekend of Dairy Festival this Friday and Saturday. Thirty (30) balloon pilots will return again this year. A special shape balloon from Albuquerque is of a huge beagle. A few balloons will participate in media flights Friday morning, weather permitting. Glows and flights are scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings at Shannon Oaks Church grounds from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
