Lady Lions Lose Close One to North Hopkins
The Saltillo Lady Lions’ softball team lost a close one Tuesday (April 10), 4-2 to North Hopkins. The Lady Panthers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Lions cut the deficit to 2-1 with a run in the top of the third inning. North Hopkins got two more runs in the bottom of the fourth to go up, 4-1. In a sentencing hearing Wednesday in Eighth Judicial District Court, Mitchell Wayne Petrea, 39, who had pled guilty to Intoxicated Manslaughter, an indictment enhanced in the use of a deadly weapon—a vehicle—was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
