Local Man Arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault

Javaron Tyray Ross, 21, was arrested at his Jackson Street address on an Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child warrant. A Sulphur Springs Police officer made the arrest and transported Ross to department offices where he was interviewed by Detectives Bo Fox and David Gilmore. Ross is in Hopkins County Jail held on a $75,000 bond.

February 19, 2018 – A call to Sulphur Springs Police alerted them to a burglary of a residence on Bellview Street. Local police found Sherrie Lee Cooksey, 40, of Sulphur Springs, hiding in a bathroom at the residence. The complainant stated she observed Cooksey inside a vehicle at the residence when she arrived.
