  A Summer Learning Conference is being held for SSISD teachers Wednesday, June 8th through Friday, June 10th at Sulphur Springs Middle School. Animals of the Week: Haley & Hillary

Haley and Hillary are two Lab puppy sisters of six to seven weeks old. Haley is the black lab and Hillary is the chocolate lab. Both were found together at Bob Evan’s Food Plant last week. “It’s possible that they were dumped in the area and that’s where they ran to,” Animal Shelter Officer Barbi Blanch said. “It was during the rain last week and they were found hiding under wood pallets.” Both puppies have playful natures and love affection. Sulphur Springs Work Camp Completes House Projects

The Sulphur Springs Work Camp finished its tenth year tonight, June 8, with a total of 185 houses completed. Tim McAlaby, the Public Information Officer for the TxDOT Paris District, provided KSST with exciting news for motorists in Sulphur Springs. The past week there has been minor construction on the Hillcrest Dr. I-30 overpass in Sulphur Springs. The construction crew poured new concrete in worn portions of the road in preparation for the new cloverleaf interchange that the Paris District is currently awaiting state office approval. Landon Mabe is the Valedictorian of Cumby High School with a grade point average of 4.31. Mabe is the son of Kathryn Mabe and has attended Cumby ISD since Pre-Kindergarten.
