Hospital Addresses CMS Concerns With Purchased Equipment

The Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Board bought more non-budgeted equipment to address concerns from a survey by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Systems Monday night.  For the OR they bought instruments and a sterilizer and scope cleaner and approved renovation of the sterile processing department and decontamination area.  They have now spent over $500,000 for CMS concerns for infection control.

Suicide Attempt of Inmate Charged with Capital Murder Thwarted

November 21, 2015 – A call from Hopkins County Jail brought EMS, Jail Administrators, and law enforcement officers to the cell of Cody Scott Shaw, 27. According to dispatch reports, Shaw attempted suicide Friday shortly after midnight. Recovery of Stolen Property Leads to Arrest

A 31-year old Pickton man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a recent Hopkins County home burglary. The burglary occurred at a residence on State Highway 154 South. Justice of the Peace B.J. Teer set bond for William Kyle Parks at $50,000. Stolen goods work at least $25,000 were recovered by Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputies. A Hopkins County Grand Jury handed down 66 indictments Monday November 16, 2015. A total of 18 arrests are yet to be made but 48 of the indictments were announced.
