Cumby ISD Back To School Bash Slated Aug. 10 At Park

The annual Cumby Back to School Bash will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 10, at Cumby City Park, and will feature lots of activities and offer servcies for CISD families and the community to participate in. New to the district students may register for classes at the designated school table. Community organizations, including local churches will also be participating in the event. The Old Settler’s Reunion this year was held, as usual, on the first weekend in August. Old friends and family members gathered to share stories, listen to local bands and enjoy carnival style food and rides. Sulphur Springs Hosts Dixie Softball World Series: Photos

Sulphur Springs hosts the Dixie Softball World Series Tournament this weekend August 3rd-7th at Coleman Park. Teams from all over the nation traveled to Sulphur Springs to compete in the World Series. There are three age group division brackets: Angels are 10 and under Ponytails are 12 and under Debs are 18 and under Ty Boatman, one of the coordinators for the tournament said “the opening ceremonies have been fun.
