North Hopkins Faces Detroit in Best of Three Series
The North Hopkins Panthers’ baseball team now faces Detroit in a best two out of three playoff series. Game one at North Hopkins has been moved up to Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. to avoid expected rain on Thursday. Game two will be Friday at Detroit at 4:30 p.m. Game three, if necessary, will be at Cooper on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Monday saw 77 early votes cast in the Sulphur Springs City Council race for Places 1, 2, and 3. As of 5 p.m. Monday, 498 registered city voters had cast ballots. Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon
As Hopkins County Deputies responded to a disturbance at Sunset Meadows, Trailer #102, they were told by HCSO communications that a man who lived at the residence had a weapon, a handgun. Young Focuses on Offensive Pace During Wildcat Spring Football
Wildcats Offensive Coordinator Matt Young wants to return the Wildcats to an offensive pace similar to what former Wildcats Offensive Coordinator Jeff Riordan referred to as the NASCAR Offense. The NASCAR offense was a big part of the Wildcats State Title run in 2008. The increase in pace is one of the goals for Coach Young and it will be an emphasis during spring workouts.
