Young Focuses on Offensive Pace During Wildcat Spring Football

Wildcats Offensive Coordinator Matt Young wants to return the Wildcats to an offensive pace similar to what former Wildcats Offensive Coordinator Jeff Riordan referred to as the NASCAR Offense. The NASCAR offense was a big part of the Wildcats State Title run in 2008.  The increase in pace is one of the goals for Coach Young and it will be an emphasis during spring workouts.

However Coach Young said the ultimate goal for the offense this spring will be developing a physicality in the offense line. Wildcats Offensive Line Coach Jeremy Offutt is in charge of that project. Spring practice got underway Monday with some work during the school day athletic period and with a session in pads after school in the Multipurpose Building. Plans call for three weeks of work Monday through Friday culminating with a Spring Game on Friday, May 18.
