RV Catches Fire

Fire heavily damaged the back end of an RV at Shady Lake RV Park in Hopkins County Saturday evening. The blaze was reported just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday. A 19-year old Sulphur Springs woman has been charged with misdemeanor theft of property over $50 after she allegedly took items from the hair salon where she worked and then attempted to sell them at another business in Sulphur Springs. Hopkins County Inmate Population Update

The total Hopkins County inmate population was at 102 early Wednesday morning. A whopping total of 25 inmates were being housed at county expense in Franklin County. Sheriff Butch Adams told County Judge Robert Newsom the large number was necessary due to an inmate knocking out a window in the Hopkins County Jail a few days ago.
