Wednesday morning, July 16, the Hopkins County Commissioners Court visited the County Annex across the street from the Courthouse. They plan to move the District Clerk’s Office out of the Courthouse to the former site of the Tax Office. Deconstruction work has already begun at the site. Among possible uses for extra space at the Courthouse include a private office for District Judge Eddie Northcutt, an attorney-client meeting area and easing crowding in the County Treasurer’s Office. The move should take place by January 1.
