Unemployment in Hopkins County is less than 5% according to Economic Development Executive Director Roger Feagley. Feagley told KSST news in an interview Tuesday that local industry is attracting workers from outside Hopkins County due to the low numbers of available local workforce. He stated this is also attractive for local business as these who drive to Sulphur Springs to work make purchases locally and are also attracted to live locally thus increasing the need in the real estate market here.
