Cypress Baptist Association Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser 2015
November 6, 2015 – The Cypress Baptist District Association is having its’ first ever Walk-A-Thon Saturday in Buford Park. Funds raised will allow association youths to attend a national event in Florida this summer. Registration gets underway at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will start at 9 a.m. They are asking for a $10 donation to participate in the walk. There will also be refreshments.

Saltillo Cross Country teams placed in the Region 3 competition qualifying them for the state meet. The Lady Lions finished second and the Lions finished third at Regionals. Tornado Watch for Northeast Texas Until 8 p.m. Thursday Night
At 12:06 p.m. Thursday, November 5th, the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch for 32 Counties in North Central and Northeast Texas. Hopkins County and surrounding counties are included in the watch. The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday night.

County Fire Marshalls Division Makes Arson Arrest
November 5, 2015 – An arrest has been made in connection with a fire that occurred Sunday morning at 11:35 a.m. on County Road 1100 in Brashear. Arrested on a charge of arson of a habitation was 47-year old Tammy Worley McCarter of Brashear, who lived at the location.
