Four Transferred to Prison
Perry Jeff Yates, 31, Stanton Wayne Yates, 30, Patrick Wayne McMahan, 31, and Cody Scott Shaw, 27, were transferred to the Texas Department of Corrections Thursday morning according to Sheriff Butch Adams. Adams stated that the four were first transferred to Hunt County where they were placed on a bus for the trip to Huntsville. Grand Jury Returns February Indictment
The Hopkins County Grand Jury handed down 18 indictments Monday, February 1. Four were sealed indictments and names are not released until arrests are made. Among those indicted whose names are released: Raul Carrera Pichardo indicted for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. New Jail Serves as Hostel For the Night
A prisoner transport passing through Hopkins County profited from the new accommodations at the Hopkins County jail. Approximately 13 were housed overnight locally Thursday night. The prisoner transport vehicle broke down in the county. With a jail capacity of 192, the additional prisoners did not move the facility toward non-compliance with jail standards.
