The Northeast Texas Children’s Museum is pleased to introduce a new event for children in northeast Texas. The first Children’s Health Fair will be held at the Children’s Museum on Saturday, January 16 from 9:30 to 11:30. The event will include free admission. The tornado watch issued at noon today set to 8 p.m. had been extended until 11 p.m. Saturday night but at 9:50 p.m., the National Weather Service cancelled the watch. A tornado watch has been issued by the National Weather Service and is in effect until 8 p.m. this Saturday evening (December 26, 2015). Forty six counties, including Hopkins County, is included in the watch area. The watch was issued at 12:35 p.m. Saturday.
SSHS Soccer Teams Take to the Pitch For Scrimmages
Both of the Wildcats and Lady Cats’ soccer teams open the season with two scrimmages this week. The Wildcats scrimmage at Royse City New Year’s Eve at 2:30 p.m. and then have their annual Alumni Scrimmage on the Prim Stadium pitch Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. The Lady Cats scrimmage against John Tyler at Rose Stadium Tuesday at 7 p.m. and again at Pleasant Grove Saturday at 1 p.m.
