The Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Health Care Foundation’s Ninth annual Gala fundraiser is coming up Saturday night in the Civic Center. This year’s sold out Gala features a Great Gatsby theme. Decorating was going on Friday and I talked with this year’s Lights of Life and Gala Co-Chairs Leesa and Brian Toliver.

Friday morning the Memorial Hospital management staff hosted, cooked and served an employee appreciation breakfast for all hospital and clinic employees. Lights of Life Tree Lighting is Scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m
The 19th Lights of Life tree lighting is scheduled for Thursday at 6 p.m. The tree is located at The Gardens of Memorial. A reception will take place in the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital lobby and will feature Santa Claus, the High School Jazz Band, Kevin Woolley’s Haystack Youth Choir and a Doctor’s Chorus. Lights on the tree can be purchased for $25 in memory or honor of someone special.
Hospital CEO Michael McAndrew Handles Physicians Concerns and Recruiting Issues
Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Administrator Michael McAndrew says a neurologist is one of the hardest positions for any hospital to fill. Memorial Hospital has been without a neurologist since their last one left in late 2011. McAndrew is cautiously optimistic that he may have found one.
