Lights of Life and Gala Funds Benefits the Hospital & Community Early

Plans called for some of this year’s Lights of Life and Gala funds raised by the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Health Care Foundation to be used to purchase three additional telemedicine machines for hospital use.  The hospital’s original machine, which allows physicians at locations out of town to contact patients and doctors at the hospital for face-to-face visits, has proved to be in great demand by hospital staff.  They asked the hospital foundation to help them get a second machine as soon as possible.  Using some funds already raised by this year’s Lights of Life and Gala campaign, a second machine was purchased and recently arrived at the hospital where its’ kept in the ICU.  There was a photo op for the new machine Thursday morning.  Two more of the machines will be coming sometime after the Lights of Life and Gala big check presentation to the hospital in March.
