Local Library Offers OverDrive Digital Library for Patrons
The Sulphur Springs Public Library is now offering Digital eBooks, Audiobooks, Periodicals and Videos. This service is powered by OverDrive and is provided for free to all library card holders. Users may browse the library’s Overdrive website, borrow titles with a valid library card, and start reading, listening or watching on all major computers and devices, including iPhone, iPad, Nook, Android phones and tablets, and Kindle. The Broadway Laser Wash owned by Clay Johnson of the Johnson Law Firm has been torn down. Johnson had closed the car wash after business declined. The Broadway Laser Wash opened in 1998 and was the only automatic car wash in town at that time. Johnson owned it as a side business while he worked at the law firm with his father Coy Johnson. It had a very successful first decade until competition and high expenses caused business to dwindle. Gator is a male two month old Shepard mix. He was surrendered to the Animal Shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. “The guy has saved several strays in his area and because he has been feeding them for some time, they are considered his dogs,” Animal Shelter Officer Barbi Blanch said. “He had to give up a few and [Gator] is one of the ones that we were able to save. Earlier today, Monday December 7, an accident occurred on I-30 East where a semi truck rear-ended the impact shock absorber on a Texas Department Of Transportation work convoy truck.
