The Celebration Market kick-off is set for May 7th in the Downtown District at Celebration Plaza. Market activities will begin around 3 p.m.. Visitors can expect locally grown produce, homemade arts and crafts, entertainment, and more. Hopkins County High School students are presenting their own pieces of work in an art show this Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30 at Heritage Park in Sulphur Springs, TX. The art show is sponsored by the Hopkins County Historical Society. Today, April 21, the Bankhead Highway Centennial Celebration stopped at Celebration Plaza to showcase their selection of classic automobiles and to interact with the people of Hopkins County. Roughly 50 to 60 cars from 1919 through 1933 were involved in the celebration. The showcase was part of a celebration for the 100th Anniversary of the Bankhead Highway. After she was reported stolen on April 18, Lavern has been returned to the Sulphur Springs Animal Shelter today, April 20. Lavern was part of a Bonded Pair with an Aussie mix named Shirley. Both were previously featured in an Animal of the Week article on January 20.
