The Lady Cats’ basketball team remained unbeaten in district play at 3-0 after a 52-35 win over Pine Tree Monday in Wildcats Gym. Once again the Lady Cats won with strong defense allowing the Lady Pirates less than 9 points a quarter. The Lady Cats led 15-11 after one quarter and 19-16 at halftime. The Lady Cats’ basketball team combined a strong offensive effort with their usual stout defense to overwhelm Hallsville, 71-28 at Wildcats Gym Friday. The Lady Cats got off to a fast start as they outscored the Lady Bobcats, 20-2 in the first quarter. The Lady Cats led 37-13 at the half and 60-21 after three quarters. The Lady Cats’ basketball team won a rematch with Winnsboro, 52-37 Friday afternoon at the Winnsboro Hoopfest. The Lady Cats opened the regular season losing to the Lady Raiders in Wildcats Gym, 63-57. Friday the Lady Cats fell behind early before rallying to lead after the first quarter, 13-11. The Lady Cats’ basketball team jumped out to a 6-0 start and then built on that for four quarters as they defeated Hugo, Oklahoma, 51-40 on the road Friday night. The Lady Cats led after one quarter 18-11, then had a 29-21 lead at the half and were up 42-32 after three quarters before winning by 11. The Lady Cats shot a hot 53% of their shots.
