“Updated Photos” Fast Moving Storm Blew Through Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County

A fast moving storm blew through Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County beginning at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Winds were measured from 45 to 60 miles per hour. The storm triggered city alarm sirens briefly. Some businesses suffered damages. Tree limbs and debris were reported on roadways. There were power outages and many reports of arcing power lines. The Sulphur Springs World Wide Photo Walk will take place on October 11 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the downtown area. The event will start and end at new City Hall and will include a tour. It’s a free event and participants are asked to bring anything that can take pictures. Local entries will be judged with prizes for winners. Winners also qualify for World Wide competition with even more prizes.
