A total of 3.23 inches of precipitation fell in February, that’s 3-hundredths of an inch above normal of 3.2 inches. Sulphur Springs has now had 7.84 inches on rain during January and February, some 1.76 inches of moisture above average. Average is 6.08 inches. March is usually a wet month averaging 4.27 inches of rain.

Two women and a man, all from Sulphur Springs, were arrested by the city and county Special Crimes Unit assisted by the Special Response Team, for possessing quite a bit of LSD, some cash and some marijuana. A 22-year old Sulphur Springs man was arrested at the Hopkins County Courthouse Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. for failure to register as a sex offender. Jodice ‘Fatdaddy’ Oliver Macon was arrested by a Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputy after an indictment was returned against the man.
