Quilt Guild Members Are Active Year Round and During Quilt Show Season
The Lone Star Heritage Quilt Guild is over 50 members strong. The guild meets monthly on the fourth Monday at the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center for a light supper and social time, and business meeting and program. Commissioners Close Two Polling Places, Move One
Monday (August 14, 2017) morning during their regular session Hopkins County Commissioners eliminated two polling places. Wesley United Methodist Church as a polling place was closed due to their proximity of other polling locations and the voting place at VFW was closed due to electricity issues at that location. Commissioners also agreed to move the Senior Citizens Center polling place to Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church....
Gardeners Donate to Sr. Citizen Building Fund
The Bright Star Gardeners Club presented a check for $1,115 to be included in the fund for a new Senior Citizens Building. Mickey Mills and Hillis Bass made the presentation from money brought in by the raffle of a handmade rocking horse. Moments of Illumination During Ho-Hum City Council Meeting
Sulphur Springs City Council made short work of a ho-hum agenda Tuesday night. However, there were moments of illumination.
