Wildcats Soccer Coach Nicky Wiggins said his team played real hard in a 1-0 victory over Pittsburg on the road Tuesday night. Johnathan Alvarez scored the Wildcats’ goal. The Wildcats’ soccer team won their third straight game in a Rockwall tournament Friday defeating Garland, 2-0. Thursday the Wildcats bested Rockwall, 4-1 and Dallas W.T. White, 2-0. The Wildcats enter play in the Rockwall tournament with a season record of 5-1.

Thursday was a good day for Wildcats and Lady Cats’ soccer teams. The Wildcats won a pair of tournament games and the Lady Cats won the only one they played. East Texas coaches and educators are rallying to help legendary East Texas football coach Dickie Meeks, who has been hospitalized in need of a heart transplant. Update on Renovation at SSHS Sports Venues
Wednesday morning Wildcats Athletic Director Greg Owens gave media members an update on renovation work at Gerald Prim Stadium and Lady Cat Park as well as plans for a new baseball field to be built near ECLC. He said Prim improvements will include replacing sod with artificial turf, redoing all the home side and installing new LED lights. Capacity should be 4,000 on the home side.
