Karon Weatherman, Director of the Senior Citizens Center in Sulphur Springs, brought it to our attention that one of our Seniors recently celebrated his 100th birthday. As a centenarian, John was recognized by the President of the United States and by the Governor of the State of Texas! He also got lots of cards from friends. Congratulations, John!

Complex Supervisor Steve Killian is thrilled to open the gates for fishing and day-use park-goers as of Monday April 20, 2020. The state-mandated closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic turned out to be a brief one, thankfully. And for the two Cooper Lake parks, that downtime allowed staff to work full-time on some needed projects delayed due to excessive rainfall. From preparation to packing to delivery to the door, this vital weekday service is handled exclusively by caring volunteers On any given weekday, approximately 150 senior shut ins on six designated routes receive a delicious, nutritious meal delivered to their door with a smile and kind word.
