Saltillo Lady Lions lose Quarterfinal Game
The Saltillo Lady Lions lost a regional quarterfinal game, 44-37 to Slidell Tuesday evening. The game was tied at 10 after the first quarter and Slidell led by only 2 points at halftime. Slidell added to the lead in the third quarter. The Lady Lions rallied in the fourth quarter but couldn’t make up all of the deficit. There are playoff basketball and district soccer games on this Tuesday game day. The Wildcats’ basketball team, the second place team in district, will face North Forney, third in its’ district, in a bi-district game at Lindale at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Lady Cats Golf Coach Whitney Spigener said her team shot good scores on the first day but then had a hard time on the second day of a Rockwall sponsored tournament at Sulphur Springs Country Club last Friday and Saturday. Wildcats Powerlifting Coach Casey Jeter said the Wildcats had a great meet at Quitman last Saturday. He said he has been proud of his lifters all season. Coach Jeter said they cause no problems and they show up on time ready to roll. He said none have ever not shown up.
