Saltillo Lions Place Third in Freeman Parish Tourney
The Saltillo Lions won their last game in this year’s Freeman Parish Tournament Saturday (December 8) to take third place defeating Roxton, 60-37. The Lions outscored Roxton in each quarter leading 12-2 after one quarter, 29-12 at the half and 43-25 after three quarters. The Lions outscored Roxton, 17-12 in the fourth quarter. The Lady Cats’ basketball team took third place in an Edgewood tournament by defeating North Forney, 40-33 Saturday afternoon (December 8). The Wildcats’ basketball team lost to Lake Highlands, 55-53 Saturday (December 8) at Forney in the third place game in the Gold Bracket at the Forney ISD Winter Classic. A big moment in the game occurred when a referee’s call went against the Wildcats in the last few seconds.
