“Updated” Monument Cleanup May Prove Difficult
The Veteran’s Memorial at Celebration Plaza has once again been spotted by vandals. Local veterans attempted to clean the spots from the memorial but were unable accomplish their task with normal cleaning tools. Clean up may prove difficult, according to KSST Veterans’ Voices host Tommy Allison.
Delta County Man Had 5.5 Grams of Meth When Arrested in Hopkins County
Hopkins County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 39-year old Cooper man, Randy Dale Hargrave, for four violation of probation warrants from Delta County at a County Road 4777 residence early Saturday morning. A search of his person resulted in discovery of 5.5 grams of methamphetamine
Sellers Guides Ghostly Nighttime Courthouse Tour
As part of the celebration of the 120th year for the Hopkins County Courthouse next week, local historian John Sellers will be giving a special nighttime guided tour of the historic edifice. Sellers says the tour will be darker and he adds he may even conjure up a ghost along the way. The tour will begin in the District Courtroom upstairs at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 21. Man Hides Behind the Wrong Door
A 24-year old Sulphur Springs man, Nathan James “Lumpy” Bearden, was arrested Wednesday evening at 9 p.m. for burglary of a habitation.
