Court of Honor held for Boy Scout Troop 69
On Monday, January 22nd, Troop 69 held their Court of Honor. There were seven rank badges given, 42 merit badges, three National Outdoor Awards and 13 Special Awards relating to the 2017 Solar Eclipse. Each member also received a 90 year sponsorship badge. The Bishop Ward Class of First United Methodist Church has 94 consecutive years of sponsorship of Boy Scout Troop 69. #ksstradio

A tip regarding a large cockfight, a blood sport between two cocks, or gamecocks, held in a ring called a cockpit, sent Hopkins County Criminal Investigators, deputies, and their newly acquired drone to a location between Como and Sulphur Springs, just off State Highway 11. The Lady Cats defeated Marshall 41-37 to go 10-0 in district play. For the Lady Cats, the game following the long trip to Marshall became a challenge as foul trouble plagued the team.
