County Breaks Ground for New jail
At high noon Monday, Hopkins County officials will break ground for the new $16-million 192-bed County Jail. The groundbreaking will take place north of the current jail. Some 12 to 15 months of construction will follow. County Judge Robert Newsom says the project appears to be below budget. CanHelp Ends its 4th Pack the Bus Drive
CANHelp at 613 Gilmer Street in Sulphur Springs had its’ fourth Pack the Bus school supplies collection Friday. The supplies will be going to all elementary schools in the county.
