Man Wanted on Homicide Warrant Arrested in Traffic Stop
A man wanted on a Homicide Warrant in Dallas County was apprehended Monday evening on I-30 at the 140-mile marker. Sulphur Springs Police Officer Cleve Williams made a traffic stop. Juan Alberto Bautista, 17, of Memphis, Tennessee was found to have a warrant for his arrest. Bautista is in Hopkins County Jail held without bond for Dallas County Authorities.
Winnsboro Police Report February 18-24, 2019
Winnsboro Police arrested two, responded to 103 calls for service, issued 26 citations, 27 warnings during the February 18-24 report period. Jody Henson, 30, of Yantis, was arrested February 21st on a Wood County Probation Violation Warrant. Michael Pascoe, 28, of Lewisville, was arrested February 24th on a State of Texas Parole Violation Warrant. There were no accidents to report during the report period.

Wildcats Tennis Coach Tony Martinez said everyone on his team was able to get in three matches before rain began to fall at a John Tyler tournament last Friday (February 22). The Saltillo Lions’ basketball team’s regional quarterfinal game has been firmed up. Saltillo announced Monday that the Lions will be playing Slidell Tuesday (February 26) at 6:30 p.m. at Bells High School. The Lions are 26-8 for the season. They edged by Midway, 45-44 Friday in an Area round game.

North Hopkins Panther Boys Basketball has been activated back into playoffs today due to a Clarksville UIL eligibility issue. Clarksville had defeated North Hopkins last Friday in Mount Vernon in overtime, but today Clarksville has withdrawn due to the UIL issue.
