PJC Board of Regents Prepare for Restructure of Board; Conceal-Carry Policy Moves Forward

A draft policy to implement state law allowing conceal-carry at Paris Junior College was recently reviewed by the Board of Regents, and plans were made to appoint an at-large regent to represent Lamar County. The regents were updated on the development of the conceal-carry policy, which was finalized by a committee after comments from April town halls were taken into consideration. Work Underway in Glass Restroom Restoration

Work is underway to restore the Celebration Plaza glass restroom that was vandalized last week. Workers are redesigning the front door using a different hinge mechanism as well as replacing the one-way mirrored glass panels. Cost of the repair for one shattered panel is over $2500 which led to a state jail felony charge for Wesley Lane Cedillo, 18, who shattered the panel with his ring. It took the day and assistance from Texas Department of Criminal Justice tracking dogs from Palestine and the Henderson County Sheriff and his deputies but Barney Dwayne Ebey, 53, and his accomplice Todd Joseph Saranzinski, 55, are in Hopkins County jail once again.
