Animal of the Week: Bentley the Dog

The Animal Shelter Animal of the Week is a two year old German Shepard mix named Bentley. Bentley was delivered to the Animal Shelter after being found at the intersection of Lee and Texas Streets. Update on Moms Runaway Turkey!

Here is an update on a previously published  Turkey Related post. Last month Mom located the nest of one of our hen turkeys. She had laid a clutch of eggs out by the road. We brought her and her eggs up to the house for safety. At the time, we would never have expected the eggs to be fertile. Yesterday, July 12 after coming home from a family reunion, we went in the house and relaxed for a bit. This Saturday, Celebration City has a full schedule to make sure everyone has a wonderful time! Starting at 8 am, Sunrise Market will be on the plaza with fresh produce, farm fresh eggs, preserves, canned goods, baked goods, plants and more. This event will be closing down at 12 pm. A family driving from California and headed for Atlanta, was involved in a single car accident Wednesday afternoon.  The incident occurred on I-30 in eastern Hopkins County. The SUV drifted into the grassy median and traveled several hundred feet before hitting a concrete and cast iron drain.  The vehicle’s bumper and various plastic parts were torn from the chassis.  The vehicle continued to race  further down the median toward a creek-bed.  With the concrete barrier on the left, and metal guardrail of the right, the vehicle plunged...
