The Wildcats’ powerlifting team finished third at a meet at Emory Rains Saturday. From all accounts, the Sulphur Springs Powerlifting Meet was a big success Saturday. The meet drew 24 schools and 330 lifters making it one of the largest in the state according to Wildcats Powerlifting Coach Casey Jeter. The Wildcats Powerlifting Team took first place at an Emory Rains Meet last Saturday. Wildcats Powerlifting Coach Jacob Alford said that ten members of his 11 man team earned medals and scored points. An estimated 300 powerlifters from 25 to 30 high schools are expected to participate in the annual Sulphur Springs Powerlifting Meet that gets underway Saturday morning in the Multipurpose Building. Powerlifting Team Finished Third in Emory Meet
The Wildcats’ powerlifting team finished third in a meet at Emory Rains Saturday. Seven Wildcats received medals and lots of them had personal bests according to Wildcats Powerlifting Coach Jeremy Offutt. Taylor Ibarra was second in the 148-pound class and Colton Morrison finished second in the 198-pound class. Johnathan Alvarez was third in the 123-pound class and Isaiah Neal was third in the 198-pound class.

Wildcats Powerlifting Coach Jeremy Offutt expects to have 300 to 350 lifters at the annual Sulphur Springs Powerlifting Meet Saturday.
