Dakota Klemptner of the Sulphur Bluff Jr. FFA Chapter is getting his project ready to show at the Hopkins County Junior Market Livestock Show. Dakota is a 10-year-old fifth grader at Sulphur Bluff ISD. Hopkins County Deputies were called to a residence on FM 3505 where Gerald Wayne Shafer, 71, was wielding a homemade spear and approaching his brother-in-law while threatening to stab him. The brother-in-law was taken to CHRISTUS Mother Francis Hospital and later released. Ramsey noted three major cases in Hopkins County and three in Franklin County that resulted in convictions for murder and one for organized crime.
