After a home loss to Mt. Pleasant, 66-39 Friday night, the Wildcats’ basketball team may need to win the rest of their games to get into the playoffs. The Wildcats travel to Greenville Tuesday night. Lady Cats’ senior volleyball player Jessye Castro will be headed to Trinity in San Antonio to play college volleyball. Jessye said Trinity was one of the first schools she visited and she said she knew right away it was where she wanted to go. Desi Debase Out for the Year
The Lady Cats’ basketball team will have to do without star point guard and leading scorer Desi Debase who is out, perhaps for the entire season, due to an ACL knee injury. Desi injured the knee on Tuesday of last week in Tyler against John Tyler. Coach Jeff Chapman has promised to battle all opponents with the players he has available.
Coach Chapman Welcomes VB Players to BB Practice
The Lady Cats’ basketball team opens play with a scrimmage at Canton Saturday. Coach Jeff Chapman welcomed volleyball players to basketball practice just over one week ago. Three starters return: high scoring Desi Debase, defensive-minded Chrissalynd Person and tall Kasey Moore at the post. Coach Chapman is looking for three-point shooters. The Lady Cats open the regular season by hosting Clarksville November 14.
