The Wildcats’ basketball team arrived at the Christmas break with a 4-9 record. Wildcat Youngsters Get Some Minutes
Wildcats Basketball Coach Clark Cipoletta had to feel like he was battling a bear with a small stick as the Wildcats lost to Wylie East last Friday, 82-35. A couple of Wildcats were suffering from flu-like symptoms. Coach Cipoletta was able to get some minutes out of some younger players, Iverson Wade and Simeon Taylor. Garrett Jones led the Wildcats with 10 points. The loss dropped the Wildcats record to 4-8.
Wildcat Basketball Tournament Update
The Wildcats’ basketball team won one and lost 3 at a Granbury tournament this past weekend. The Wildcats are now 4-7. I talked with Wildcats Basketball Coach Clark Cipoletta Monday morning.
Wildcat Basketball Team Improving
Wildcats Basketball Coach Clark Cipoletta was pleased with the play of his team in the 49-44 loss to Royse City Tuesday night at home. Coach Cipoletta noticed his team executed some of the things they had been practicing on. He told the team he’s more concerned with them getting better than in wins and losses. The Wildcats open against Fort Worth Northside Thursday in a three-day Granbury tournament.

The Wildcats’ basketball team went 2-2 in a Royse City tournament this past weekend. Included was a forfeit win over Mt. Pleasant. Wildcats Lose in Opening Round
The Wildcats’ basketball team lost to Royse City, 67-34 in their opening game of a Royse City tournament Thursday. Wildcats Coach Clark Cipoletta said his team came out with a lack of intensity and shot poorly. The Wildcats were 0-15 from 3-point range and only 7 of 15 from the foul line. Cain Cody led the Wildcats with 16 points. The tournament concludes Saturday.
Wildcats Lose to North Lamar Are Now 1-1 for the season, Tournament Thursday
Wildcats Basketball Coach Clark Cipoletta said he felt good only trailing North Lamar by two points at the half Tuesday night in Wildcats Gym. Then in the third quarter he said his team broke down mentally and lost focus. North Lamar outscored the Wildcats, 19-4 in the third quarter on the way to a 64-44 win. The Wildcats are now 1-1 for the season. They’ll open a Royse City tournament with a game against the hosts at 11 a.m....

New Wildcats Basketball Coach Clark Cipoletta said the final minute of the Wildcats season opener against Wills Point was the longest minute of his life. He added it left him exhausted. The Wildcats’ basketball team will open their regular season Tuesday night at home as they host Wills Point for a 7:30 p.m. game. The game will mark the debut of Wildcats Varsity Head Coach Clark Cipoletta. The Wildcats had two scrimmages early in the month. Since then football season ended and several football players joined the basketball team.
