The Wildcats’ basketball team arrived at the Christmas break with a 4-9 record. This is their first year under new Head Basketball Coach Clark Cipoletta, who was the Wildcats JV Coach the past couple of years. The Wildcats won their first game under Coach Cipoletta over Wills Point and also had tournament wins over Frisco Independence and Everman. The Wildcats also claimed a forfeit when Mt. Pleasant chose not to face the Wildcats in a tournament prior to district play. The Wildcats have lost to some quality opponents including North Lamar, Royse City twice, Granbury, Wylie East twice, Fort Worth Northside, Waco High and Paris. The Wildcats play in a two-day Kaufman tournament beginning Monday.
