Malnourished Cattle Seized Near Birthright; 10 Head Dead
A call Monday morning alerted Hopkins County Deputy and Animal Cruelty Investigator Coby Hume to approximately 45 head of cattle that were malnourished. Approximately 10 head were found dead near a pool and two of the bovine bodies were in the pool. According to Hume it seems the cattle had broken through a weak fence and torn down bales of hay to eat. That hay is now trampled under their feet and ruined by their own waste. The cattle...
Christmas Goody Bags Filled for 140 Meal A Day Recipients
The Hopkins County Marketers Association met at the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizen’s Center on Monday at 11:00 AM to fill Christmas Goody Bags for the 140 Meal A Day Recipients. The Bags were donated by Brookshire’s. Each Marketer brought 140 items to contribute to the bags. The bags will be delivered by the Meal A Day Drivers on Tuesday.
