The Sulphur Springs School Board was told Monday night that there was good news on the student enrollment front. Superintendent Michael Lamb said the district was growing. Using attendance figures from the Tuesday after Labor Day for the past six years, the district was at an all time high this school year, 4,365 students, 67 more students than last year and up 237 students from five years ago. It was a long hot day at the Sulphur Springs ISD Administration Building Monday. At 11:15 a.m., lights begin to flicker. By 11:30 a.m., the decision was made to cut off power to the building due to a faulty power connection outside. The very old part was very rusty and corroded.
