Superintendent Lamb On Policy Waivers for the SSISD

The Sulphur Springs School Board voted to suspend a portion of district policy Monday night for one year only. Superintendent Michael Lamb explained that state passing standards for STAAR math tests would not be established in time for this school year. Therefore the district could not require students in grades five and eight to pass the math test along with reading in order to be promoted to the next grade, as their policy requires.
