A blaze initially reported as a grease fire did heavy damage to a home on County Road 3341 in Hopkins County Friday morning shortly after 10:30 a.m. Although the fire was quickly put out by firefighters, County Fire Chief Kevin Yates estimated a loss of 95% of the home’s contents. Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office Saturday afternoon put out request to the community for help for a deputy and his family in their time of need. “Last night our deputy, Aaron Chaney who was on duty at the time, heard Sulphur Springs respond to a structure fire at his address. Officials Wednesday afternoon reported the Sulphur Bluff man whose County Road 3608 residence was destroyed Tuesday by fire was located by specially trained canines inside the debris of his home. Fire Damages Home in Dike
Fire did some damage to a one story brick house on County Road 3506 in Dike Wednesday afternoon. The blaze was reported a few minutes before 2 p.m. First fire units reported flames showing as they arrived. Firefighters put the fire out. All those inside the house were able to get out safely. Firefighters stayed on the scene for over four hours.
Fire on Beckworth, no Injuries
Fire damaged an unoccupied frame house in the 600 block of Beckworth Saturday night just before midnight in Sulphur Springs.
