“Updated” Hopkins County Home Destroyed by Fire

A blaze initially reported as a grease fire did heavy damage to a home on County Road 3341 in Hopkins County Friday morning shortly after 10:30 a.m. Although the fire was quickly put out by firefighters, County Fire Chief Kevin Yates estimated a loss of 95% of the home’s contents. Fire did some damage to a one story brick house on County Road 3506 in Dike Wednesday afternoon. The blaze was reported a few minutes before 2 p.m. First fire units reported flames showing as they arrived. Firefighters put the fire out. All those inside the house were able to get out safely.
