Saturday (November 4) was a big day for Hopkins County at the State Cross Country Meet at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. In boys Class 1A, Miller Grove won the state championship, Saltillo finished second and Sulphur Bluff fourth. In girls Class 1A, Miller Grove was second and Saltillo twelfth. Two groups of students were recognized by Hopkins County Commissioners Court Monday for their outstanding performances at the state level during the spring semester. Once again the Miller Grove’ cross country teams went far from home for competition. The Hornets and the Lady Hornets ran at the Nike South Invitational at The Woodlands this past weekend (September 29). The Hornets finished seventh out of 22 teams.
